Today, at the Planning Commission of Pakistan, Islamabad, the ITA launched ASER Report 2023 which revealed a remarkable education success story in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). Despite national challenges, GB showcased significant advancements. Grade 5 students in GB surpassed the national average in both Urdu and English proficiency, with Urdu competency rising from 52% in 2021 to 60% in 2023 and English proficiency climbing from 60% to 66% during the same period. Contrastingly, at the national level, Urdu proficiency decreased from 54% to 50% and English proficiency dipped from 56% to 54%. Moreover, GB achieved an outstanding 94% enrollment rate, the highest across the country next to AJK. This achievement underscores GB's dedication to providing quality education for all.
