Honourable Minister of State for Federal Education & Professional Training, Ms. Wajiha Qamar, inaugurated the ICT Deworming Initiative, marking an important step toward protecting children’s health and improving learning outcomes. The initiative ensures that students receive safe, DRAP-approved deworming treatment through schools, helping prevent infections that affect growth, nutrition, and concentration in class. At the launch, the Minister emphasized that deworming is not only a health intervention but an education priority—because healthy children attend school more regularly and learn better. Implemented through the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training and the Federal Directorate of Education, in coordination with health authorities and partners including IRD, Evidence Action, and WHO, the programme reflects a strong commitment to child wellbeing and human capital development in Pakistan.
