Federal Secretary for Education Visits NIETE, Highlights Expansion Potential to Non Formal Schools

The National Institute of Excellence in Teacher Education (NIETE) was honored to welcome Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, for a comprehensive visit to its mission control today.

Accompanied by Madam Riffat Jabeen, Director FDE and Madam Samia Doger, Director FCE, the Secretary was given a detailed walkthrough of NIETE's operational ecosystem, which is currently enhancing teaching quality and foundational learning outcomes across public schools using digital lesson plans and initiatives like the AI coach.

During the visit, NIETE’s leadership team, including Taleemabad’s CEO Mr. Haroon Yasin, shared key milestones achieved through its data-driven teacher training programs, classroom coaching tools, and AI-powered digital platforms. The delegation also reviewed the impact NIETE has made on improving foundational literacy and numeracy through its holistic model deployed in Islamabad and Balochistan.

Impressed by the scale and structure of the initiative, the Secretary expressed keen interest in extending a similar model to non-formal education institutions, including Basic Education Community Schools (BECS) and National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) schools. He acknowledged the urgency of bridging quality gaps in these underserved segments and emphasized that scalable, tech-supported interventions like NIETE are the way forward.

To take these discussions further, the Federal Secretary has invited the NIETE team to a follow-up meeting scheduled for next week.

"What NIETE has done for formal education must now be mirrored in non formal spaces. The potential for systemic change is immense," remarked Mr. Mahboob during the visit.

NIETE remains committed to transforming education through innovation, evidence, and collaboration—and looks forward to contributing to broader national education goals.
