Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in collaboration with Pakistan Institute of Education (PIE) and JICA, launched the Federal Non-Formal Education Strategy 2025, Annual Statistics Report 2024-25 and NFE Assessment & Certification Framework to Expand Educational Access and Empower Out-of-School Children.
Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in collaboration with PIE and JICA, under the guidance of Federal Secretary Education Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, has taken another significant step towards achieving inclusive and equitable education with the launch of the:

  • Federal Non-Formal Education Strategy 2025.
  • Annual Statistical Report 2024–25 
  • NON Formal Education Assessment & Certification Framework.

jointly unveiled by the Pakistan Institute of Education (PIE) and JICA.
?? Key Highlights of the Report:

  • 30,543 Non-Formal Education Centres nationwide
  • Over 1.23 million learners enrolled
  • 34,256 dedicated teachers, with women comprising over 83% of the workforce
  • Educational opportunities extended to 15,747 refugee children and 11,774+ minority children
  • Introduction of Middle-Tech and Matric-Tech pathways in collaboration with NAVTTC, integrating academic education with technical and vocational skills
  • Digital monitoring through NFEMIS to strengthen transparency, accountability, and evidence-based planning

Addressing the audience, the chief guest, Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, Secretary, Federal Education and Professional Training, highlights the key features and parameters of this non-formal strategy and also appreciates the efforts of all stakeholders, including JICA Pakistan for his valuable long-standing support, particularly on non-formal education. He also reiterated the Government of Pakistan's commitment to addressing the challenge of 25.3 million out-of-school children by expanding flexible learning opportunities, strengthening skills development, and ensuring every child has access to quality education.
